Back to the BumBot thingy, it's all about the neighborhood. Those people that Terrill had created the robot about, they aren't those who are homeless and seeking a warm place to sleep. Homeless shelters here--and I imagine this is pretty universal--have a cutoff time. You want somewhere warm to sleep and some food too, they accommodate you as best they can but they don't leave themselves open all hours of the night. Those people the BumBot is trying to prevent aren't homeless; they're shifty bastards who attempt to sell you drugs even before the sun goes down. |
