The Unseen Hand (Conspiracy Lit)

I've just finished the first book I've read completely in about a year (Sweet Soul Music) and it has left me with a feeling of accomplishment. So, this coupled with my possible re-entry into academia for a History degree and the possibilty that I may be starting a conspiracy radio show for the University, has coerced me into starting a book I couldn't get through before. The Unseen Hand, A Conspiratorial View of History. Since none of my friends will touch a book like this on the grounds that they are already too paranoid, I have no one to really talk about these books with.

So, has anyone read this? Anyone read any other good conspiracy books? Casebook on Alternative 3, Black helicopters over America, Extra-terrestrial Friends and Foes, Everything is Under Control, Conspiranoia, etc.

Conspiracy radio show?

That kicks! Do you get to play paranoid records on it too?

A great, classic conspiracy book is The Illuminoids by Neal Wilgus. A complete catalogue of wars, assassinations, political coups, trade deals, technological breakthroughs .. and guess who's behind them all? No, go on, guess..

Also David Icke's big book, which I can't remember the name of, but having flicked through a copy, it's fucking essential!

I tried getting the Illuminoids through my bookstore, but no go. Maybe I'll redouble my efforts, because it seems like exactly what I'm looking for. The pure weirdness of Conspiracy Theorists.

The radio station needs to have a certain percentage of spoken word programs on air, and they almost never meet their quota, so I'm a shoo-in. I just need a partner, because I'm not sure if I can do all the talking myself.

The Biggest Secret? That'd be the one that doesn't have him on the cover, naked, wouldn't it?

Then it's not worth getting, isn't it? Unless we swap the dust jackets.

Not quite on-topic, but quite fitting. This week's Popbitch included this gem: quote:The_Queen_Mum writes: "A photographer friend of mine was approached by two of David Icke's disciples a few years back, with a view to him snapping the cover shot for the lizard-hater's latest book.

"The concept was that Icke would pose naked, arms outstretched, like a Renaissance depiction of virtuous manhood, while his minions fawned about him. Five minutes before the shot, Icke disappeared. When he returned, he let his towel drop from his waist and assumed the position.

"Unfortunately, the Godly One's cock was so red, raw and swollen from what appeared to have been a frenzied bout of masturbation to big himself up, that the resultant pictures could never be used..."
Ewww.

I have The Unseen Hand but have yet to finish it. I loved the one bit where he explains how fundamentaly unjust a democratic society really is(the people on the island that have to share shit).

Another badass book is "Behold a Pale Horse" by William Coopersmith I think. If the name isn't right I'll repost when I get home.

I would definetly recomend picking up the book not only because of the wide range of topics it covers(Fatima, Area 51, Masonic shit, Illuminati, Mind control via microwaves or something..ect)but because it offers several different awnseres to many of the most popular conspiracies.

What realy impressed me is when he covers disinformation and how it's used to subvert the conspiritorial culture. Like the goverment would really let NBC air a speacial on how the moon landing was faked if it was such an shadowy secretive monster! On the same hand maybe they want us to fear them, and make them out to be more clever and devious than they actually are. Shit like that.
