I thought it would be cool to have a thread to post about older rappers. It would be great if people talked out what they liked about whoever they're posting about, but I'm also cool with quick 'BIG 4eva' style posts (and/or mocking other people's wack taste).
Lately I've been listening to heaps of Big Pun, and am real tempted to say he's my favourite rapper ever. He's the only dude I ever heard do speed rap bits where you can hear that he's out of breath by the end. He has classic punchlines and all-time NY lyricism.
The line everyone always quotes, because it is so great:
In the middle of little Italy, little did we know we riddled some middle men who didn't do diddley
Unbeatable! Capital Punishment is easily one of my top ten favourite records ever. |
