Hitman - Orphan or Clone?

The trailers for the movie Hitman said he was cloned from the DNA of the world's most dangerous criminals.

And yet, in the movie, we are told he is just an orphan, raised by the "Organisation" (no longer the "Agency", no doubt due to the CIA's censorship) from birth.

Does this represent our society's fear of science? Should we start a petition to have Agent 47 reinstated as a clone?

More to the point, can we have a campaign to give all the other hitmen basic hitman training? 47 seems to be the only one who can shoot straight...

The weird thing for me is that when I heard he was playing Hitman (hee!), it dawned on me that his lack of expression and complete stiffness could be fit (I only played the game where you kill the guys in the restaurant, so maybe he shows a full range of emotions in other games I'm not aware of). But he doesn't look bad-ass.

Whenever he'd walk in Deadwood, it seemed like he had a broom stick up his ass, holding his spine up straight (and stiff). At moments it seemed like a mustached Robocop was thrown into a Western version of Godfather...

But I'd go watch the movie if it was 2 hours of fat ladies singing opera in the background while he killed people all Ridley-Scott-red-satin-black-suit/ Jean Reno style.

Ah - Hitman: Kitchen Nightmares. The best in the franchise, I think.

It does seem as if the artistic vision has been compromised somewhat. Still, at least Agent 47 doesn't engage in acts of coitus in the film, as feared - thus allowing true afficionados to preserve their suspicion that he has no genitals, because he's a clone.

I don't remember him being a clone but I'd bet he had no nipples (like comic books representations of men -- scratch that up above, I'd go see it if they'd remove Olyphant's nipples and package with make-up and CGI and they put inserts of close-ups of his naked smooth parts every 15 seconds).

And I didn't knew what you were refering to about stiffy's sex life, but a google search actually showed people complaining of a sex scene for not being faithful to the game. I'm dumbstrucked that there's something to be 'faithful' about except suit, guns and baldness.

I'm still waiting for the 'Half Life' adaptation where fans complain that Gordon Freeman shouldn't speak during the entire movie (not to make him look badass or anything, but 'just because, goddamnit' and have the protagonist just looking at people talk during the entire thing).

This thread made me want to see the Super Mario film again.
