STEALING, I mean sharing music is great isn't it?

In the book Generation X Douglas Coupland describes

"Option paralysis: the tendency, when given unlimited choices, to make none."

This sums up my music stealing/sharing experience. So to help those us that can't think of anything to put in that annoying "search" bar, I want everyone to recommend some music, any random track will do current to classic.

For the purpose of brevity and to stop this lovely shiny thread being marred by the ugly beast of discussion, I have devised a simple format, which will probably be ignored about halfway down the first page.

So, hoist the jolly roger, affix that eyepatch and lets sail to Copyrighttheft Island together in the big boat interwub.

We used to be friends The Dandy Warhols

What: Electric bohemian decadence with a bouncy singalong chorus.

When: Drinking Vodka while getting ready to go out and even though you don’t really want to go you’ve decided to look slutty fantastic anyway.

Stop, I'm already dead Deadboy and the Elephantmen

What: Pared down southern stomprock with a jangly intro leading to a solid rock and fucking roll track. What the White Stripes might have sounded like if they had been able to get anymore band members.

When: For storming out of a strip club because you've just realized that the last lap dance you had was from your superhot underage cousin and you was too blitzed to notice

The prayer Hadouken!

What: Uk Grime meets Nu-rave over Game boy samples and then trashes a Bloc Party favorite, manages to be refreshingly young without being juvenile, fun without being naff and lo-fi with out being cheap.

When: Trying to convince yourself you aren’t that old after finding your first grey pube

Gogol Bordello, Your Country.

What - stomping anti establishment punk gypsy gubbins that somehow manages to be really pissed off with everything whilst reaffirming everything good and magical about human existence.

When - you're planning the revolution in your squat over a few vodkas and things are getting a bit heated so a dance would be a much better idea.

I,I,I by The Osmonds

What?
Disco-tastic and funky as hell, this is your favourite mormon family leaping on a sexy bandwagon and only getting off once every cowboy in the whole damn train behind is shaking their leather-clad booty to some of the darkest dark-rock-disco.
Yes, they had help. I for one am glad they did.

When?
If you ever want to dance, and especially if you're the sort of person who enjoys incredulous looks to meet your answer to the question "who is this, by the way?"

On call Kings of Leon

What: Southern indie from sons of a preacher, Slow burn bass with building scratchy guitars and whiskey blues voice which, while not technically brilliant, has something better; character

When: While waiting outside of a police station for your friends to be released from the drunk tank

Band aid covers a bullet hole Scarling

What: Bouncy, chunky Goth-influenced track sung by Betty Boop’s slutty sister, whose voice lands on the good side of the annoying threshold. Infused with spangly, noise distorted guitars that counter an almost subliminal driving bass.

When: Trying to cheer up the Goth your trapped in a lift with.
