I am here, but I am studying for a test I have tomorrow. It is on American foreign policy. Before you ask, yes America does have a foreign policy that does not include invading random countries in the Middle East that start with the letter "I"

Saint Keggers
03:04 / 26.09.07
Well ofcourse it has a foreign policy. However Im far too depressed and drunk to debate it.

I am glad to know that you are drunk. I salute you for being in an intoxicated state. My roommate and I bought two bottles of two buck chuck today but I can't drink it until tomorrow. Tomorrow I will probably posting in an intoxicated state

Saint Keggers
03:27 / 26.09.07
Is that the same thing as Plonk?

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings

Two buck chuck is a $2 wine that they only sell at Trader Joe's stores. Two buck chuck is actually called Charles Shaw hence the name "Two buck chuck" It actually won an award from a wine organization. In reality it is not the best wine but it actually is okay. But for the price, it is a great value

I tells ya what... if I ever get to your neck of the woods I wll trade you a bottle of home brew for your quitescential 2buck. And viceversa should youever find yourself round thses parts

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings

I have never used PM before. I have never sent or received messages using it. Now, that I think about it, I think I might be going to Montreal in late January. Are you anywhere near Montreal?

Saint Keggers
03:52 / 26.09.07
A negligeable bus or 2 away

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings
03:57 / 26.09.07
Ah ha. well I am not sure if I am going to Montreal anyway. But when it come closer to the fact, I will let you know whether I am going north of the border. I have to say I am not relishing the possibility of being in Montreal in late january/early february. I like the town of Montreal but I like it when it is slightly warmer

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings

That is my plan for staying warm. My plan is to drink enough that even though it is below zero outside, I will be hot.

Saint Keggers
04:11 / 26.09.07
The general plan is usually as follows, Summer: Everyone hits the clubs and streets to enjoy the heat. Winter: Everyon hits friends places to mellow and enjoy the warmth.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
05:52 / 26.09.07
I'm here, jetting in from the faraway lands of conversation and communal discourse. Also, I've discovered torrents. Am I a lone Barbenaut by this point, or is anyone still there? Do you receive me? Over, over, over...

This Sunday
06:20 / 26.09.07
Hey! Just slid back into the 'lith, but I'll be here for a bit.

How did the latenight striking of a few nights ago, go? Or was it a no-go?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
06:46 / 26.09.07
Oh, it was a yes-go. The chief steward came and picketed with us, yammering the entire time. I think she's having a breakdown right now but isn't allowing herself to take any time away from the situation, which just exacerbates her inability to deal with people in any kind of human-like fashion.

As it stands, we've drafted up weekly picketing schedules in the event of a full-scale walk-out, and happily none of the shifts go past six in the evening. But we still don't know one way or the other what the situation is going to look like even a week from now. I don't like the uncertainty one bit and I'm already starting to debate my options.

This Sunday
06:58 / 26.09.07
At least there's no latenight stuff.

And hopefully it'll pan out into something beneficial to you.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
07:03 / 26.09.07
Oh, certainly. And I need to keep that in perspective and look at any picketing time as time which can be devoted in the direction of the writing and the reading and the development of nice calve muscles via walking back and forth with placards. While losing weight.

I just fired something into the Doktor Sleepless thread which seems at least tangentially interesting even if horribly marred by my social status, I don't know. That comic doesn't feel like a comic so much as a series of hardcore internet memes.

This Sunday
07:11 / 26.09.07
It's kinda what the series is for, though, isn't it? A series of internet memes?

It really feels like that out here in LA, I have to say. IPhones everywhere! Videostores collapsing all over because everyone downloads their movies! Projectors the size of small cars on streetcorners blasting underwear models across the face of a building! People calling me on their cell from across the bookstore to complain that they'd already seen every piece in the Banksy book somewhere or other online! All with exclamation marks and yet still terribly bored, passive, and kinda high on their own repetitions, as though collecting internet memes and it's a challenge to be met, utilizing every smartphone feature as fast and often as one can all the time.

And then there's me. Perpetually near-broke (with my bank account temporarily froze due to a glitch and no checks clearing for at least a week), low-end on the tech, and still a bit in love with the paperback format and the VHS cassette.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
07:15 / 26.09.07
Or me, searching in vain for years for some comic book back issues and then finding them available in torrent like that. And then getting annoyed because I have to wait while they download. We're losing our patience.

Even then, I'll probably keep looking for the physical objects. Which is funny, because I still think of them in terms of data storage on paper.

The comic is more dissatisfying because it feels like an unfinished thought, or just stray notes for a better comic with deep art and characters that don't feel like, ah, recycled Ellis-borgs tottering around, delivering their basic pre-ordered monologues. I'd rather spend my money getting something weird from Oni Press and then hanging around feeling guilty for spending money and perpetually scraping by on the skin of my teeth.

This Sunday
07:18 / 26.09.07
I do wish I could be less ethical about the whole torrenting thing. I mostly stick to stuff I already have or things highly unlikely to be reprinted in my lifetime.

But there's so much more out there. And really, it isn't much different from reading it in the shop, I guess.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
07:19 / 26.09.07
And I think that's me out for the night. I'm on that thin edge, and I need to be up reasonably early tomorrow morning -- this morning -- to do the dishes, clean the apartment, wait to see if anyone calls me into work, go get comics, then fire myself into a coffee shop to sit in the presence of other living bodies with no headphones in my ears and a notebook in front of me, pen in hand.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
07:21 / 26.09.07
I mostly stick to stuff I already have or things highly unlikely to be reprinted in my lifetime.

Of the stuff I've taken out, I torrented comics that I've never been able to find in the time I've been going to shops, and I would still buy them if I found them. I don't plan on using this to look up stuff I can find easily.

This Sunday
07:22 / 26.09.07
Night, then.

Think I've got about an hour left in me before I talk myself into sleep.

COG

hey, I'm sick and off work, so this seemed like the best place for fevered blurts of wisdom, even though it's daytime here.

Anybody about?

This is what I got up to over the weekend. Watching not doing. Crazy and scary to watch, and one of the towers fell down. The person on top is about 7 year old.
