Robotech movie?
The article is annoying ('first giant robot movie'?) and information sparse, but it's a nice announcement. And I figure if the Transformers thread could be sustained through months of geek-powered and childhood-fueled hope, so too Robotech.
More thoughts in time, but right now I'm just feeling that sad little geek thrill. My only question now is who will make it through as a nonwhite non-American, and otherwise how much Glovalness can be sustained beneficially today in an American movie market. Is his Russian-ness more pointed now than during the cold war breakup period? Should he be returned to his Macross Italian roots? |
