Yes, Tilda makes sense.

Some people have put in a word for Miranda Richardson. Whilst I see where they're coming from, it is Tilda ftW.

I'm sorry, but for the wondering, wtf is 4 11? I know who Tilda Swinton is, so I've got that part.

Because, you know, it doesn't make sense. To me, but I'm a bit slow.

Holy crap, but I get cryptic when I'm drunk. By 4 11, I mean "for the eleventh incarnation of Doctor Who, should the oft-repeated threat of a female Dr. be carried out."

Oog. That makes two of us.

That does make a lot of sense.

I thought it was somehow giving us the "four-one-one" on something, or a reference to something biblical.
Aha. So, just what is this Doctor...Who, you say? Seriously, at some point I'll just have to watch that, with the amount of adoration it gets here. I think BBC America is playing it. Is it the kind of program that you really need a history with to appreciate it, though? The tiny snippets I've seen seem so campy or something.

For best enjoyment of Doctor Who, it really really helps to be, like, ten years old.

It DOES make sense.

The Tilda Swinton thing, anyway.

The 4 11 bit's still gibberish.

I'd prefer a mudkip, to be honest, but Tilda'd be a close second. Maybe Tilda DRESSED as a mudkip could be my ultimate Who?

It makes total sense. She'd be perfect, not least because she looks just a little bit like Tennant.

I said it first though!(11!!) I can't find the reference, alas (it was in one of the Who threads), but I'm glad the meme is out there ...

You said it, and two and a half years ago, to boot:

Tilda Swinton. She'd be great.

Yeah, 411 was really throwing me off. In what world does 411 not refer to information... oh, right, where the phone codes are different and posts are fueled by drink and Who.

First thing I ever saw her in was sold to me as 'Tilda Swinton, hooking up with the best-looking people for over a hundred years.' And that works well enough you might as well reposition it. With roboty-things and cheesy gimmicks, and maybe even a sonic screwdriver that sings while you drink it. (Right, it's not what a sonic screwdriver is, but you know it makes sense.)

Alternately, my not-so-deep-down ten year old self would very much like a season where the Doctor's just played by Baker's scarf. To scour the brains of purists and make in impossible not to embrace the extreme goofiness and still watch the show.

Tilda Swinton would make an awesome Doctor Who. Has Who ever incarnated as a woman before?

Never. Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor) started a rumour that his replacement might be female, and it's sort of never gone away really.

The suggestion has had a mixed reception from fans, put it that way.

But he should do. Reincarnate as a woman, I mean.

God, having just come home from having some fight-wanty bloke dismissing everything my (female) friend said because "she's just a bird", it really pisses me off that having a female Doctor would be that hard to take. It's The Doctor! And she happens to have boobs! So what?!

Never been a female Dr you say? What about Joanna Lumley?

In other Who news, Tennent and Rose get a cameo in the latest Buffy comic, geek upon geek.
