YEah, like, what new books are sending ripples through the intelligentsia out there? I'm talking both fiction, non-fiction, like politics, magic , whatever. Since 'No Logo' I haven't really been paying attention, so anyone knows what books and authors should i keep an eye on?

The Spike by Damien Broderick, maybe.
I started it with an attitude of "okay, I know this already!" but still had me reluctant mind blown.

Empire by Negri and Hardt is huge - I mean both a big hit with lefties from liberals to anarchoids, and physically massive - it's a fucking brick. Hell dense with Marxist theory... not reader-friendly like, say, No Logo.

I'm going to edit the title of this thread, because I think 'mindfuck' has been used too recently in a slightly different context in Books. Hope no one minds - if you do, PM me and I can change it back...

"Slaughtermatic" By Steve Aylett. A very unusual book, a future society where crime is the only original art form.

It seems to be written in a very stream of conciousness style and has some lovely ideas and images but did have me trying to tune my brain into the actual book for the first few chapters.

I love the Microsoft gun, you pull the trigger and it fires an hour later

No problem in changin the title, i guess, the term 'mindfuck' always had some reminiscences of the Invisibles and R.A.Wilson and that is why i used it, don't really know what context you people are using it now.

I thank u for the suggestions. Aylett has been a must for some time now, thank u Opalfruit. Anything else, i would surely appreciate it.
