Watched this last night and being a bit of a fan of Shane Meadows expected it to be full of well-realised characters, a true grasp of the zeitgeist and utterly harrowing. I wasn't disappointed. I think it's an amazing film, very funny dialogue and characters and the sets and costumes made me feel like I was a little kid back in the early eighties again, plus the soundtrack is excellent.
There were quite a few scenes I found very difficult to watch indeed, but I just couldn't tear my eyes away. The main thing I love about the film is how it draws a very clear line between skinheads as a culture/lifestyle rooted in reggae,tu-tone and punk and those who are nationalists.
I'd be really interested to hear what other people think. |
