I have a pair of vintage motorcycle boots, the soles of which have come away, the stitching having rotted to nothing. I also have some nice old brogues which need re-soling and another pair of leather square-toed cuban-heeled boots which need re-stitching. I used to get stuff like this done in Brighton when i lived there, but now im in London, i need to find a good quality cobblers who are capable of more than just re-heeling. I dont mind paying for a good job. Any ideas?
Oh, yeah, I live Poplar/Canary Wharf but work in Kensington, though if they are GOOD, i dont mind travelling....

Unfortunately I can't help you but I'm quite interested in any response as I have a pair of beloved shoes that need new soles.

Where's good in Brighton, Joe? I would ask the Savage, but as you're here...

I go to Fifth Avenue Shoe Repairs, which is on Goodge Street near the corner of Goodge Street and Charlotte Street. They basically rebuilt my boots (knee-high, not motorcycle) in under 24 hours and for not a lot of money (about £5, as far as I remember), which was appreciated!

good stuff Vincennes, that sounds like the job.

Boboss, as for Brighton, i used to go to a little place just off St James Street, George Street i think. They are called Pullingers, and whilst a bit disorganised, they will do a good job on boots/shoes that most places would call write-offs.
