Are there any good steampunk books out there? I've read "The Iron Dragon's Daughter" and "The Difference Engine" since they somehow got classified under the steampunk label, but I was left wanting more. Are there any more or is this a genre with only two books in it?

The Steampunk Trilogy by Paul DiFillipo, recently (?) rereleased.

Um, and, see Conceiving Ada - not Steampunk, but you should like it.

quote:What is today known as "Steampunk" has its beginnings in the early days of pulp fictions, for the genre is really a combination and imitation of the Scientific Romance and Gothic Horror genres of literature. Definition and history here. It sounds great.

"Infernal Machines" by KW Jeter was great fun - linked Karl Capek's "The Salamanders" with Deep Ones and, you know, Industrial Age quantum computing an' stuff.
