I've listened to "2 Hype 2 Wype" like 20 times (it's available on emusic) and find it pretty interesting. However, no one else seems to understand why. Most people are sort of like Huh? It's lo-fi, low brow, pitch-shifted, psycho hip-hop. The lyrics are juvenile, irrational, or lampooning gangsta rap and the culture surrounding it. I've all but given up recommending it to anyone.

It seems kind of hard to find any info on them too. Even interviews are written within their personas. One blog I saw suggest members include libythth and Devin Flynn, animator and member of Pixeltan.

Anyone have any inside info or commentary on the group?

Are there any tracks to listen to online?

I wonder.

If the music lampoons gangster culture in Hip-Hop as effectively as that interview does, then this group is fairly worthless.

Sorry, yes, some sample tracks might help.

I don't know if saying they "lampoon ganster rap" is really accurate, that just seems to be the predominate description of them as I look around. I don't know if they specifically set out with that goal. Well, I don't really know much about them at all, which is why I made the thread to ask. It seemed like the type of obscure thing someone here might know about.

Quite possibly, it's utter crap and has been consciously avoided. The album kept me amused though. Those sample tracks are a lot more repetitive than the album tracks, but still better than nothing.

They've had stuff put out on Load Records (the name is familiar to me from the discography) so they might have connections with the Fort Thunder collective.
