Hello there,
I'm new here and figured this was as good a place as any to start. I've linked to some of my bands songs I posted on youtube. The 'videos' are just some images strung together. You can get all of our songs free at the other link. We haven't played for years so don't worry, I'm not trying to sell anything. Let me know what you think.

Hi modusponens, welcome to Barbelith.

Not meaning to piss on your parade but self promotion when we don't know you is a little frowned upon around here- hopefully your gonna participate in a few more threads. Just as a pointer here's a link to the etiquite section of the wiki.

The music isn't my thing but could appeal to some of the punk/ hardcore kids that populate the board- i hear a bit of Fugazi and a bit of at the drive in in there.

I'm gonna be a little bit harsh but the videos did nothing for me- the edits and images didn't really do anything for the music- the cuts were way to slow and i couldn't see a link or running theme- a little bit like watching a computer flick through a photobook in standby mode...

I understand that you probably want as many people as possible to see your band- hence put anything up on youtube- but why sell yourselves short? It sounds like you put a lot of effort into the music- maybe try and do something simliar in the videos? If you don't have access to the technology surely you can find a friend/ aspiring film maker that can help?

Maybe I wasn't very clear, I'm definitely not having a "parade". "Self-promotion" is probably not the right term. I haven't been in a band for seven years. One of the guys told me that he had re-posted all of our songs for download so I grabbed them, slapped some images together as less than an afterthought and put a couple of them on youtube for the hell of it. The videos were not intended to be anything special, just something to look at while you listen to the songs. I repeat, this is not an active project really, I just thought I would share some songs and free downloads. Nothing more than polite introduction and conversation starter. "I come bearing gifts" : )

I've posted some more vids on youtube for our biggest fan 'Hulk' (keep the fan mail pouring in buddy, I read them all =]). Just youtube search 'spider-frendz' and you will be happily rocking in no time. Also, we are in rotation on the 'mohawkradio' stream. Enjoy!
