Im looking for a straightforward way of recording audio in wav format on my G4 laptop. I have an I-mic but "audacity" doesnt seem to work and "finaly vinyl" is distorting the input.

any suggestions?

Is there any indication as to why audacity doesn't work? I've just had a go on it and it recorded straight away. But i am on a macbook with a built-in mic, so it might find that easier to work with.

Have you tried fiddling abotu with the input settings?

Thanks for the reply,

I get the following error message when i try to record.."Error while opening sound device. please check the input device settings and the project sample rate."

In preferences I have selected the Imic, and have tried various sample rates.???

I am so going to not help you by telling you that the same thing works fine on my Minimac. Have you told the Mac's own syspref's that I-mic is your audio input? I know I have, but I'm also nowhere near the thing right now.
