I think that two of the pieces / styles that are represented, were in a show somewhere near where I live. Like the theme as well as the images...

gypt. It's ok..the show will be up for another month.

yawn. I feel like an ass when I try to explain my stuff. It's basically an exploration of my own thoughts after september 11th. I painted this thing on the same week and it comes from my frustrations about not being able to express myself clearly. The monkey(his name is Swasones) is basically a real life sock monkey that was my best friend for a year. He shows up a lot in my paintings and he's representative of that time in my life. Maybe he is going to heaven.."loss of innocence". Fuck it. I'm not sure what it's about and my explanation will probably change the next time someone asks me.

It's a robot and a monkey. Everyone likes robots and monkeys.

You must go, MG. Opening night was insane, which was fun except that I probably have to go back to look at the paintings properly.

...maybe it's my art school untraining, but painters always seem like mugs to me when they try to explain their paintings with words.

if you be painter not writer, why must you feel the need to explain with words??
