Haloquin- I think the best actual use of these responses would be to copy them into a thread as and when required, responding to a post. Directing people to other threads doesn't often work, especially if the thread is marked 'BINGO' and is explicitly about rebutting common stupid arguments. - Quantum
This does make sense. I was hoping to eventually compile these into a Temple version of the feminist Bingo card, but using it as a pre-typed response card rather than something we link to in thread might make sense. It could be linked to for people who want to educate themselves rather than as a response to idiotic posts... I found the feminist one really informative, it illustrated nicely how I could respond to common ideas that I couldn't quite think my way round but knew I disagreed with and showed up ideas I hadn't come across yet. So I wonder if this could do a similar thing? |
