zime tones...

Although much of his work might be looked down upon in the world of literature, I found Stephen King's writing somewhat compelling enough tonight, to skip my usual six-to-eight. It was pretty exciting, it was.

plenty to do today, and it looks like the rains might not spoil it.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
05:41 / 03.07.07
I got about four hours of writing done today. Nothing much beyond first draft stage, but it felt good. My head's buzzing with ideas for the story, and for stories to write afterward. Feels good.

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings
05:43 / 03.07.07
I like Stephen King not necessarily because it is literature, but because it is an entertaining read. There is a large difference between those two categories of books. It really depends on whether you are in the mood for literature or an entertaining read. During the summer I prefer books that are more entertaining for some reason

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
05:54 / 03.07.07
Ain't no difference between "literature" and "entertaining reads." I've enjoyed a couple of King's more recent short stories, actually.

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings
05:59 / 03.07.07
Well to literarture snobs (of course there are none here on Barbelith) there is a difference. A lot of people would not call Stephen King's writings literature per se but would agree it is entertaining to read without being up to the standards of being called literature.

Anyway, some of his short stories are very good but I feel like they are a bit hit and miss. Some are very good, some are not as good.

Alright if anybody is still around, I am packing it in for this lateshift. But I'll probably be back tomorrow night to see if anybody is around.

Goodnight!

Evenin

I'm looking for any Ninjapirating lateshifting feelgood drunken shockingembarrasment antics.

Here's a starter, imprompteau(?) work drinking, too much beer... stolen traffic signs (ok not particularly original but we all love a classic), head held high the next morning come what may, then having to sign myself off sick and stumble home early as unable to stop being "hungover" in the toilets every half an hour, in my new workplace and everything, bloomin Tuesdays

Evening sTe!
That sounds like a lovely way to spend a tuesday... except for the whole sick the next day.

I havent been drinking for a while. Closest is spliting 4 bottles of wine with a friend one evening. Sigh. Dammit, its the summer season I should be going out to meet with friends and drinks and make an evening of it. Yep. I should do that. But Im all old and matured and shit now.

this can't have been a tuesday, it's been too weird for a tuesday.

Never too old Venger my Hatted friend, I gave up for a while on health grounds and what turned out to be false promises to the 'management' but gord darn it all, I'm yet to turn 30... just about so why not make sweet chunky hay while the sun miserably fails to shine?

Saint Keggers
00:24 / 04.07.07
"sweet chunky hay" that..that just sounds repulsive.

00:29 / 04.07.07
Fair point, I have to admit that's one of the least attractive advertisments for drinking, how's about Tuesday tootling?

Saint Keggers
00:33 / 04.07.07
much better. Well, its too late to get a gang together to head out for libations (and most of them work or have families to get home early to anyway). But I will have to console myself with some red wine.

Saint Keggers
02:07 / 04.07.07
Has everyone toddled off?

Jot Evil Rules During Weddings
02:46 / 04.07.07
I am joining you for the lateshift tonight. Alcohol free tonight though, I have sworn off alcohol for a bit after last weekend's experiment. I took a few shots of every type of alcohol in my friend's liqor's cabinet. Trust me there were so many types I can't even remember what I was drinking

Anyway, is anyone else here?

Saint Keggers
03:01 / 04.07.07
Im not sure about anyone else, but I believe I am here. At least thats the current rumour that's been circulating.
I am drinking. I gave it up for almost a month. Now I've decided to give up giving up things. I find it quite refreshing.
