Saint Keggers

You work in the coffee industry?

Saint Keggers
02:57 / 11.07.07
And WHOA! STOP THE CAR! I am NOBODY'S PET!

grrr.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
02:59 / 11.07.07
Yes, I do work in the coffee industry. Going on about six or so years now. Love it. Love it madly. And want to kill every now and again.

I'm sorry--whose pet are you not supposed to be?

Saint Keggers
03:02 / 11.07.07
Everybody. I am not supposed to be everybody or anybody's pet. Although for a while I think I may have been somebody's pokemon. That was weird. But the round ball was supprisingly comfortable and roomy.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
03:20 / 11.07.07
And you got to say awesome things in a shrill childlike voice. That couldn't have been all bad.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:26 / 11.07.07
Except you'd only be able to say your own name, over and over and over again, wailing your life away because THERE WAS NO NUANCE!

Saint Keggers
03:26 / 11.07.07
Well the only thing I could say was my name. There are times when I would have liked to have said other things. Things like "pokeball has no airholes..cant breath..help."

Saint Keggers
03:27 / 11.07.07
With Nuance, ofcourse.

Hi Papers!

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:32 / 11.07.07
Hi. Is hot. Very hot.

I was offered a job today! A permanent half-time position at one of the other library branches, one that I like better than the one I'm currently working at. I'll be starting in a few weeks. There are slightly more hours involved, less politics, a good staff. I'm excited.

Saint Keggers
03:34 / 11.07.07
Congratz.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
03:38 / 11.07.07
Now, Papers, how hot is hot? Because I think Georgia's got that beat.

How am I still awake?

Saint Keggers
03:42 / 11.07.07
It's not the heat, its the hummidity. (at least thats the case here)

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:43 / 11.07.07
Yeah, the humidity's pretty bad tonight.

I get a new position in time to hear that we'll be having a strike vote shortly. LOVELY.

Saint Keggers
03:50 / 11.07.07
Maybe you got the new position just in time to get a raise?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:51 / 11.07.07
Hopefully. The bargaining really isn't going well.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
03:51 / 11.07.07
Here in Georgia, it's nearly one in the ayem and the humidity slaps you in the face like an uncomfortable damp cloth.

This is why I hide inside with air-condition and cats.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
03:56 / 11.07.07
UGH.

Ah, air conditioning. A fanciful conception, surely.

Saint Keggers
03:56 / 11.07.07
Im picturing Kali actually hiding, perhaps behind a large comfy chair, with one arm around the airconditioner and the other holding a bunch of cats.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:00 / 11.07.07
She screws her face up at the thought of heat and grabs hold of her multitude of cats more tightly. Arrrr!

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
04:07 / 11.07.07
IZ U WATCHIN MI?

Saint Keggers
04:11 / 11.07.07
Crap! She's on to us. Retreat retreat!

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
04:17 / 11.07.07
Heh heh.

Still up for a bit. Knowing it's past one in the ayem and now re-reading old blog entries for some sort of bizarre mental masturbation.

This Sunday
04:19 / 11.07.07
Anybody up? Long, stressful, absurd day, but pretty decent night so far, probably because I stayed barricaded indoors.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:20 / 11.07.07
I knew we shouldn't have given her those night vision goggles.

I'm excited, because tomorrow is comics day and I've decided I'm going to get myself some actual manga for once. Just to see if it's any good. & dinner party in the evening.

This Sunday
04:20 / 11.07.07
(Of course, if I ever figured out the Barba-timecode, I wouldn't post 'Anybody up?' so quick after someone, presumably 'up' posted.)

This Sunday
04:21 / 11.07.07
What manga are you after? Or are you just, dipping in at random?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:30 / 11.07.07
Yotsuba that Y&B is on about sounds fun. I was going to go with that. Heard a couple good things about it.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
04:32 / 11.07.07
Aside from my own anime preferences, I realise I have nothing to offer to this line of convo.

Please. Carry on. I may learn.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:36 / 11.07.07
I've been branching out to North American fauxnga like KING CITY (which is so ****ing awesome!) and Becky Cloonan's EAST COAST RISING, but I've never really bothered with actual genuine Japanese stuff. I'm concerned that the right-to-left, back-to-front reading will turn me into a delirious monster, but that might be a small price to pay for a wider reading pool.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:38 / 11.07.07
Relevent Thread, Kali.

Saint Keggers
04:41 / 11.07.07
I tried manga. I dont like it. I think its the saucer eyes and mouths the shape of large beans. I find myself constantly picturing what an actual person would look like. I find it disturbing. So I tried manga and now I dont touch the stuff.

This Sunday
04:44 / 11.07.07
That's probably a good one.

I'm currently rereading Love Song, which is a collection of four short pieces from Keiko Nishi that stuck out like a sore thumb when it first came out in english, but now just kinda blends in. Gorgeous stuff, though, and manages to be perpetually heartbreaking and optimistic. Just realized, most of the manga I currently read is scanlation stuff, with the buying of the proper editions probably a while off, so any recommendations would be digital.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
04:45 / 11.07.07
Is it bad that I only like some certain anime? Cause if it's not, I'm sure I could find some food to make feel loved.

Saint Keggers
04:48 / 11.07.07
Well before this lateshift hits the dreaded page 9, I think Im going to call it a night and go to bed.

Gnight all. 'sbeen fun.

This Sunday
04:49 / 11.07.07
Venger, try something with no Betty Boop eyes, then. Simple enough. Kaiji Kawaguchi's Eagle, the aforementioned Nishi collection, or Lone Wolf and Cub (only the kid's have them, and y'know, kids kinda do sometimes) might do it for you. Depends on the genre you're looking for two (the above would be (a) politics, (b) romance/relationships, and (c) father/son action death pose-real-cool honor and revenge).

(Not that I'm proselytizing or anything. No, of course not.)
