Mohawks! Mohicans! I love 'em. I miss my mowie. It was purple. Except when it wasn't another colour, or was very blonde. Mowies YES.

Air.

It's really silly, I know, but well, there's a whole goddammed lot of it, it's all over the place, and has fantastic properties, including the whole breathing thing; the fact there's a whole bunch of it sitting on top of you and weighing you down all the time but you don't notice it all the time; the omnipresent push/pull quality, where it seems quite passive and relenting but then it can knock you on your ass; brings smells and sounds to you from way far away or directs them in sharp turns away from you; makes the moon get bigger or smaller (I know it just looks that way, but from a looking standpoint, same diff). And you can't hold it very well, but you can't help but hold it soon as you cup your hand and don't fill it with something else. Corruptive bits kept in check to keep it useful to us, the whole atmospheric filtration thing, there's virtually no end to my love of air.

It holds and drops rain, gets lightning going, knocks leaves off trees for me to see, generates lovely clouds, makes waves of grass and flowers, gives the birds and bats somewhere to do the whole wingbeat thing...

I am making truffles.

At least, I am trying to make truffles. In the past, this has always resulted in me eating a failed ganache out of a bowl with a spoon.

The ganache I'm working on is flavored with garam masala, a little ginger, a little cayenne, and a whole lot of cinnamon.

I love experimental chocolate and I don't care who knows it.

I don't care. I even burned the single just to play in all my friends cars when they take me places. It's soooooo good, (even though none of my friends like it yet). Check it out.

I've discovered I love wearing my hair in bunches as it's cooler in this hot weather. Despite not ever presenting an image of what you might call a manly man I've not yet actually gathered the nerve to leave the privacy of the house with this hairstlye, but I'm happy to admit to it in the safe zone this thread provides.

Thank you for the T-shirt praise! They are supposed to be "premium" cotton, so I hope they´ll not shrink or lose colour too soon. I´m glad that they got such a nice appeal from you. : )

I have become addicted to reading secret confessions sites, as in Secret Chest and its far more scary cousin, Keyfess. But this morning I found the most amusing, yet adddictive time-wasting material yet: the Wiki How-To Relationships section. How to Get Your Overly Sensitive, Emo Boyfriend to Dump You. How to Decline a Gay Wedding Invitation for Religious Reasons. How To Win Her Back At Last. (RLY.)

Finally, How to Live Without a Significant Other in Your ENTIRE LIFE. Including the following wisdom:

Do not ignore your need for physical gratification. Most adult stores will stock several supplies to soothe those needs. You will find that, with a little exploration and time, you can satisfy yourself faster and more thoroughly without a partner.

Eye-gougingly bad life instructions of joy. Or terror. You decide.

CATS.HAVE.BELLY.BUTTONS.

Do dogs have belly buttons? I've had a dog for nearly 15 years now and have yet to locate his belly button. Maybe he has one, but I've never physically poked his underside while determinedly looking for it. I might do tomorrow. Maybe he has an outty. That might be it.

I love living in "the future." I know this is "the future" because, while I may not have a robot maid like on The Jetsons (could get a robot vacuum, though), I have an endless supply of good music (I can even listen to my whole music collection - on random play - while I drive!) and literally infinite amounts of interesting information to read. AND...I can sit in the sun in my back yard, with a glass of wine and bees buzzing and flowers, listening to my endless good music and looking at the infinite interesting reading material (or just read a good book, which I can have sent to my house. Or watch a good movie, which comes in the mail whenever I want).

I so much wish I could go back to my 12-year-old self and say, "Hang in there, kid. It's going to get really, really good later."

Yes, dogs have belly buddons. They're one of the defining traits of mammals, except for marsupials and monotremes (platypii, for example, although they're from the biological twilight zone for a dozen reasons).

Lama glama
23:19 / 28.05.07
Well, technically I know that dogs should have belly buttons what with the umbilical and so forth, but I just figured that the cord broke off in such a way that it didn't really leave a noticeable scar. Must try and find that tomorrow. Will report back.

Talks To Strangers - go get your mohawk back , right this second!!!

I haven't found a haircut as profoundly satisfying as a mohican. I'm not even so bothered about what it looks like. What's important is to have very little hair on the sides of your head, and a long bit on the top. The rest kind of sorts itself out.

And what else do I love? All sorts of things.........

My indoor cat's soft kitten pads. He has never gone outside and therefore still has soft kitten paws instead of the hardened pads of the other cat.... I love that and the little bald patch on his tummy.

My wife has an affection for Avril's Girlfriend - which is kind of growing on me.

I'm not sure if it was the airplane effect, the lonliness, the boredom or what, but I really enjoyed Pitch Black 2 far too much. I watched it 3 times on two journeys, and haven't seen it since, partly because I'm worried that it'll be rubbish, partly that no one seems to seel it whenever I've looked in a shop.

Ooh, I rathered the Invisble Man (US version). Vincent Ventresca had some awesome hair.

What is wrong with me?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you.

So far as playing with puppy feet is concerned anyway.

In a book about magic I read today that playing with a puppy is one way of recharging and showing us that life is profoundly good.
