The enemies? Repetitive. The dialogue? Wonderfully horrible, badly translated. The graphics? It's hard to shrug properly with text. Punching a giant enemy robot across 4 city blocks into a giant skyscraper, then transforming your robot into a tank and ramming him? Abso-freaking-lutely priceless.
The controls for this game were great. When I first looked at them, I had a fear-based coronary, but they soon become second nature. Shoulder buttons control walking (left shoulder triggers for the left foot, right ones for the right), and the joysticks controlled the arms. Various movements unleashed long range weapons or different moves.
It was a really innovative notion, I thought, having to ensure the safety of your robot's 'controller' on the ground, from whose perspective you control your robot. Even the ability to levitate your little person to the top of a building didn't help much if you accidentally knocked the enemy robot through said building... |
