"You know what I need? I need a logo. More to the point, I need two - two iconic logos - MTV adaptability and BBC2 style simplicity for both plasticbag.org and Barbelith...."

Well, 'topper me head:

Plasticbag's tougher, though.

Great. The big ones a cricket ball! (and a snooker ball?)

Turn it over to make a P (for plasticbag, changwe the colour (Orange/yellow) and we have themed logos, which are distinct but conjoined.

Would the preferred logo for plasticbag be a 'p' or a 'pb'? 'Cause instead of flipping the 'b' on its head, you could also copy it and flip it over, then put it so its head would sort of rest on the top of the tail of the 'b'.

though of course, tom sees it as the brand of plasticbag.org

as for the barbelogo, the parallel lines need to be much closer to the edges of the circle, and thinner. less white. (look at the comic again) otherwise, yeah, looks like a cricket ball.

Jesus, general approval! Where did that come from?
I'm perfectly familiar with the original, but didn't want to plagurise [which I thought laudable]. Remember, there were more than a few guest artists who either could neither decide nor agree on the Barbethingy....
Then again, perhaps Grant decided to change it every few days, just to keep anal-retentive fanboys occupied for the rest of their lives with trivial details.
Dare I invoke artistic license?
And pray tell, what's wrong with cricket balls?

artistic license is one thing, and constructive criticism is another.

um. or not.

sorry, didn't mean to piss you off.

Kooky:
Confusion, if anything, struck me when I quoted Tom's requirments of 'two logos', and 'MTV adaptability', and several persons chimed in with "Turn the b upside down and you've got a p!" I was wondering if I was posting to Barbelith at all....
I admit to having been briefly smitten with a whimsy for design [which obviously isn't my strong suit] and then putting myself in both the proper place & position to be readily offended by a popular preference for Pokeballs. But having put myself in said circumstances, I've no right to be annoyed at others for voicing opinions when I'm the dork what incurred 'em.
So, in short, wasn't pissed. Never got the hang of placing sarcasm in brackets is all. My fault if you got the wrong impression.

(play with Flash for fun and ... well, just fun)

I like both of 'em. Leisure's has the Pop-PBS feel going on, while the Fool has the edge in tech-slickness. Leisure's looks like a station-break, whereas Fool's is meant to blink like a signal pulse.
