NYC Barbeloids, can I rock a NY hat?

I really want this hat.

But as a Florida resident by way of Virginia I don't really wanna be seen as fronting. But I don't wanna wear a VA hat and there's no way I'm gonna wear a Florida Marlins hat or something. So what do you think?

Is NYC so big and magical that you could rep it as the ideal city without having lived there? Or would I just look like a goofball?

First off, I don't think it's an NYC hat, really, I think it's a Yankees hat. Though I don't know shit about baseball.

Second, I thought the rule was not to wear stuff about the city if you *are* in the city. Like, I have a "I <3 NY" t-shirt, but I only wear it when I'm not actually here. It's like wearing the t-shirt of the band, to the band. Don't be that guy.

My old roommate in Idaho has been wearing a Brooklyn sweatshirt for years now. I don't think he ever got into fights about it. But that's Idaho.

Yeah, that's a Yankees hat, not a New York hat. I wouldn't suggest it unless you like the Yankees. And that rule sounds good in general but doesn't really apply to baseball hats because they're not a tourist thing, they're a sports team fan thing.

You can count this as the opinion of a non-New Yorker who does know something about baseball (full disclosure: not too fond of the Yankees, nothing against NYC). And I realize I'm kind of being no fun, sorry about that.

Jack - if like the hat, wear it.

If anyone gives you any grief for it, send em to me.
