...honestly...the best thing to do is to sign up for a course at a local university...look for life drawing to develop some skills that lead towards figurative and comic art. On top of that, sketch as often as you can. I'll check my book sources when I get back to my home base.
To jump towards a specific expression (like comic art) is fine with a foundation, but I don't recommend using it as THE reference to learn to draw. Oftentimes, comic art is a poor excuse for figure drawing, with things like proportion, scale. perspective, and use of space being fairly poor. |
