FTP site up for Barbeproject use

For the March mix CD project, I created a "Barbelith" user on my Web space for FTPing files up and down -- it turned out to be a remarkably convenient way of getting people to put everything in once place rather than a legion of YouSendIts and Gmails and links to other sites and yadda yadda. The way Dreamhost structures their user space is also very convenient for this sort of thing.

So I'm keeping it open for other project use: I e-mailed Tsuga the new password for April mix use, and he will (presumably) pass it on to April mix participants.

If anyone else wants FTP access for their projects, espeically Barbelith-related projects, just let me know. I plan to change the password every couple of months or so; once a major project (like a CD mix) is finished, I'll set up a different password and send it to the relevant next-project person for distribution.

Obviously this will require a bit of management on my end, but I'm not particularly worried about abuse. Worst come to worst it takes all of 3 minutes to change the password to something else, and I retain final control over the "Barbelith" user in my capacity of the administrator of my overall account, so there are no worries about permanent password scrambling or hijacking for nefarious ends.

So if an FTP upload/download location would be of any help to you, let me know. I'm focused on using this for Barbeprojects but I'm not averse to helping people out if they need a hand for something else. I have a sick amount of webspace and bandwidth (Dreamhost is... generous. Not so good with downtime, but generous) so I'm not too worried about running out of transfer allotments or anything.

I think it's a really good idea. It was so easy just to ftp the files over for the CD. Thanks for setting it up.
