Dunt work for me. I don't feel entirely right for two or three days after a bad hangover - not physically sick, just low energy, grouchy moods, that kind of thing.

Product of getting older, I reckon

yeah nowadays i can normally shake of the nausea and headache by about three in the afternoon next day, but still feel kinda down for days after.

is there a medical reason for the depression after drinking, or just general getting older malaise?

I think it's a combination of psychological factors and proper physical brain fuckage

Doh't know about anyone else but I suspect that one reason I notice the hangover-over more nowadays is because I'm just not drinking half a bottle of vodka every other night anymore. (Slight exaggeration, but not much.)

Yeah. My hangovers are completely different animals from what they used to be. I used to drink a lot on a regular basis, and it used to be that I'd feel literally like I was going to die in the morning, feel a lot better by the afternoon and be ready to drink again by the evening. Now days I still drink a lot when I do drink, but I only do so once every couple of months or so and when I do I never feel half as awful as I used to the next day - I can move and talk, and eat a little, and my head doesn't hurt that much, but I feel weak a dizzy for two or three days, and sometimes depressed for as much as a week. The depression is much worse with wine or spirits than with beer. I figure the drinking less and the slower pushing thirty metabolism still play a part in this change.

so if we want to start feeling better the morning after, we should be drinking more?

thats logic i can get behind.

No, if we want to feel better we should not be 30+ anymore. Sadly.

Whisky is the way to go. Just whisky, nothing else except water for alternate drinks if you get to 3am+ This is my recipe for a great night and little hangover, except when it isn't and it all turns to whisky flavoured shit.

I had several drinks, and then got bored and stopped and went to bed last night, rather than continuing on until I couldn't move, drink, or remember the last several hours of the session. As a consequence I did not have a hangover today, but did feel slightly surprised, as this is not not my normal behaviour pattern.

I might have to have experiment with this more than one and less than nine drinks business again some time - it seems strangely devoid of disadvantages.

A bright new year and apart from a little murkiness this morning, where I couldn't tell the time properly, I'm fine! I put it down to a lot of aftercare as I made sure to gulp my bodyweight in juice and water before bed. The lasagne and buttered bread slice didn't hurt either.

Lasagne butties are the greatness.

Happy new year, you lovely mutants.

Yeah, I did the same thing. For every drink that I had, there was a large glass of water--the only downside is that I had to use the bathroom more often than I would usually. And then I had some Chinese noodles and more water before bed. The result is I'm a bit muzzy, but not doing the "ohmigod, I am going to die" thing.

Actually, I think some cold Chinese noodles might be the thing to start with today.

I haven't got a hangover because I didn't go out! Instead ai watched shit telly, enjoyed a bit of Point Break and went to bed.
