Hey kids,

These are pics are going to form the basis of my next gallery show. Its going to be a solo show, but I am also going to do an online gallery where you can get extra prints not included in the physical show.

But here's what I've done so far...

Enjoy. More to come soon

Oooooh! I enjoy! The surrealness and the tension between the grey-real and pretty colours is lovely!

Olulabelle - Fool, when and where is your new gallery show?

It will be in Melbourne (obviously) at the PerSquareMetre gallery (if I can book it) and most likely in May/June.

Got another big project before then, doing the visuals for my BF's ambient tech project, but I'll put that in its own thread...

I really, really like the last one. I like the fact that you have to look to see what's changed. I think the leafy bins one is amazing and it was my favourite before, but now the secret modification of the last one is my favourite.

Someone should go around town graffiting those designs to walls and streets...

ah, melbourne's laneways. love them. does the city of melbourne still do laneway art projects?

I'm impressed you found walls without stencils on them.

Mr Matsya, yes Melbourne's alleys and lanes are its secret gold. I've returned to them again and again as a source of inspiration (I did one of my architectural major projects on them).

and you posting reminds me I owe you a monkey punching a dinosaur! LOL!

...and finding alleys without stencils can be tricky, but there are some parts of the city that even adventurous stencillers overlook

That's what quite a lot of people say, including me. I put it down to having a clear need to express respect for the excellence, without the ArtMind needed for serious critique.

I work on the supposition that it doesn't matter how many times someone says, "Dude, that's ace!" It's always still good to hear.

I have to say, I wasn't really feeling the images from the first post of this thread at all. Not compared to your other stuff.

Everything from the second batch on has made me do an about turn though. That's all super-lovely stuff.

iamus - Hey I'm glad you like the second batch, I like to think I'm getting a little better at doing them as I go. When I started these pieces I had no idea quite how to make them work, so I just tried anything that came to mind. Its been a balancing act with the photos and the additions, I want the additions to actually add something without detracting from the original image. Its still hit or miss in my book but hopefully I'll get 6 good ones for the show by the time I'm done.
