A quick IMBD reference tells me that I've seen Chloe Sevigny in four films (Last Days of Disc/American Psycho/Party Monster/Dogville) and she's never really jumped off the screen at me (hence the need to check). I'm not saying shes bad, part of being an actor is not sticking out like a sore thumb, and maybe it's the roles I've seen here in, but she does seem to lack the wow factor.
More tellingly (for me at least) is that I play 'who would you cast...' with a few of my friends. Basically, take a book, TV show, old film, and think 'if we could make a film of this now who would be the dream cast?' The big repsec' comes from naming people who are a) obscure/cool and b) perfect for the part. Somehow Chloe Sevigny's name has never come up. |
