Wedding Shoes

I'm looking for shoes to wear to my wedding. I'm thinking blue, green, blue and green... fun, sexy, not boring. I like my heels high, and I'm not a big fan of the very long pointy points. Otherwise I'm open minded. I found these beauties on Zappos but I'm waffling a bit on the crinkled patent leather:

Those are some really sexy shoes, ibis. More so for the name "Zappo."

Ibis, we absolutely need more info on the outfit before we can help you with shoes. Is it long skirt? short skirt? Trousers? No skirt?!

Yes 'Lula is correct we need more data, plus open toes are tricky especially in events with drunk people.

I heart fluevog!

The dress is long, ivory, halter top with Aline skirt... very little embellishment, some... whaddaya callit... asymmetrical shirring on the skirt. Chapel train. I figure no one's likely to see very much of my shoes but if they do I want them to be a little surprising. The thought of "bridal" shoes or your typical "strappy sandals" just makes me want to cry. I want them to be awesome, and, even better, ones I will wear many times. I have small pretty feet and I feel I can wear most styles, but ankle straps are probably not really my flavor.

What's your budget?

Ah, budget. No strict budget on shoes but I think I would feel uncomfortable spending much more than $200.

I think you should seriously consider buying some Vivienne Westwood's off ebay. What better opportunity to buy and wear a GOD on your feet.

I know I saw those! So hot... dunno about dancing in them.... Unfortunately all the V. Westwoods currently on ebay are too big for me (I'm a US6 at most, sometimes 5.5) but I'll keep looking.

Meanwhile, still scouring Zappos and admiring these beauties:

And these are a little darker and more demure than my vision, but oh so pretty, I might just have to try:

Ah, the paradox that is Manolo Blahnik. Some so classic, so understated, so gorgeous -- I have been wearing a black, suede-backed, med-high-heeled, ankle-strapped pair for ten years now -- and yet, sometimes, so hideous: I often see monstrosities of his that do not fear zebra stripes, gems, sequins, and colors not found in nature: all in the same pair.

Step carefully, step wisely:

And congrats, btw.

XK's suggestion are beautiful shoes. I think you need to make sure your shoes are still elegant, or if not elegant really crazy. I am not sure if the royal blue ones with the little sole are elegant enough, but the navy ones are.

I think if you're going to do lary, you should do really lary like the Vivienne Westwood. A little bit lary could just look like you got it wrong.

I got some shoes in and tried them on with my dress. Forgive the shitty pics. I love the height, though sanity make take over and prompt me to get something a smidge lower for after the ceremony. They're light blue patent with bows and little silver hardware on the toe. I think they're probably a bit of an odd choice, but I also think they're very me. (By the way what look like knarly veins on my feet are marks from the crisscross wedges I was wearing all day.)

The fluevogs are bloody gorgeous, I have to say. I love the detailing. The dark blue shoes, ibis, that you posted - the pinstriped-looking ones - are pretty hot as well. I'm curious to see a close-up of the light blue ones you've tried on, though...

you can always have a good shoe place adjust the height of the shoe a bit by adding a thicker piece to the footpad area underneath. If it is an issue go ask!
