Amazon has a listing for an item you may be interested in. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0861661540)

As it's not my bag but I think it'll be a lot of yours I'll just post their description and let you discuss it at length. And pre-order it, I imagine.

Here's the blurb "
This is a luxury collection of comics by Rian Hughes, Master illustrator and designer, the man who has done more for comic book design than anyone else. Contents include Grant Morrison's reworking of the classic British comics character, Dan Dare, set in a mass unemployment 1980s in which Dare is no longer sure of his place in the England around him. "Science Service" co-written with John Freeman allows Hughes full rein for his retro style. In Raymond Chandler's "Goldfish", adapted by Tom DeHaven, he captures the noir shadows in a clever use of 2-colour artwork. Also in the book are Really & Truly (also written by Grant Morrison) from 2000 AD and a selection of sketchbook pages. It is produced in an embossed casebound edition with an introduction by comics guru Paul Gravett. This edition is limited to 3000 copies worldwide. Grant Morrison is one of the most celebrated British comics writers and Rian Hughes is very well respected in the design community having won many awards for his work."

Wow...it's depressing that it's a Rian Hughes collection but that blurb makes it sound like he's decent, an alright artist, but the real draw is Morrison.

Daaaaymmnnn!! I have always wanted to get a collected DARE edition as I really loved that book back in the day. I just might have to buy this. Thanks for the info. Plus, I love Rian Hughes' work and would be happy to support the old chap.

Amazon.com has told me that this book should [finally] be delivered to my doorstep in a few days. I'll post a report once I get it. I'm very psyched to see the DARE mini again after all these years...I only have dim 8th grade memories of it, and issue 2-4 are somewhere in my back issue collection in my parents' basement (literally).

I got the book today! Yippee for me.

And it looks great, obviously. But a question: In my Fantagraphics mini reprint of the "Dare" series, it looked hand-lettered and in "Yesterday's Tomorrows" the "Dare" story the word balloons are in a blocky typographic font. I haven't seen the Revolver or Crisis serialization, so I'm wondering--does the book return to the original font or did Hughes change the lettering for this edition? (And why the letering is different in either case.)

Well, since Hughes bread and butter work these days is Font design I'd imagine that these are his fonts.

Its a beautiful and very interesting package. One that provokes many questions. A glance at the copyright pages and indicia is a bit of a treasure trove. There is a 'thank you' to Rebellion owner Jason Kingsley, presumably for permission to reprint Really and Truly... Which could point a hopeful finger towards a possibility of resolving the issues surrounding Zenith... However, before we get too excited we should all remember that this is all just a theory and even if the theory holds true Kingsley might feel very differently towards Morrison than he does to Hughes.

There is also the fact that Yesterday's Tomorrows is published as a collaboration between a tiny British publisher and an equally small London comic shop.
