50 Ft Queenie by PJ Harvey
Amped up blues - with a total size queen boast - "I'm 20 inches long".
Accelerator by Primal Scream
More with the pumping bluesy guitar. They did a version of this Jools Holland with Kevin Shields that made me forget how much of twat I think Bobby Gillespie is. No mean feat.
Loose by The Stooges
Very very primal. Like some kind of rock'n'roll reduction (in the cooking essence). Those meaty juices boiled down to something intense.
Shakespeare by Akala
Akala boasts that he better looking than The Bard over a thundering electrohouse beat.
Superbad by James Brown
Because he is.
What works for me is that these songs (with the exception of JB) are all full of abandon. Cutting loose. Filling every spare corner of the world that you occupy.
And JB because he is so focused in this track. When I hear this I am the Godfather of Soul and you are about to get an offer you can' refuse. |
