The Swiss Army, yesterday

Apprently Swiss soldiers crossed into Liechtenstein territory, but no-one noticed, and they didn't have any ammunition with them. They did have assault rifles, and Swiss Army knives, so it could have been quite serious, really.

The Lichtenstein government said "no problem", allegedly. But then, they don't have an army.

First they came for the Liechtensteinians, but let's be fair, there were only about four of them and I'm still not entirely sure where Liechtenstein actually is, so I did nothing...

True fact: I'm related to the Liechtensteins. Ali Podstasky-Liechtenstein is my mother's third cousin; they had sleep-overs as little kids. During which they did unspeakable things.

Liechtenstein is the little principality nudged up between the WSW corner of Switzerland and the eastern end of Austria. I've only been there once, and Ali wasn't home. Alas.

Until further notice, consular functions/affairs will continue to be administered by the consular division of the Swiss Embassy in Washington.
