I'll be there.

Well, I have to be. I'm the MC.

mondo a-go-go
16:25 / 26.02.07
I'm busy for most of that day and evening but might be able to make it if you're not on too early -- what time do you think you'll be on?

Mono
21:13 / 27.02.07
We should be on around 10ish, definitely not before.

Even if you all don't care about the bands, it'll be worth coming to see Stoatie's mad MC skills.

And we4 just made the poster:

Mon Oncle Ignatius

NICE poster! They're going to look so good plastered all 'round the neighbourhood.

There now follows a brief episode of ironic reverse psychology

I'm not going to this gig. I simply won't, shan't and anyway can't.

;-)

My suit can't wait for another outing.

The fact that it's talking to me is probably not a good thing.

Lilly Nowhere Late
08:01 / 01.03.07
Stoatie: It's a modern world; there are dry cleaners for talking suit problems.

Q:Will there be any '30's girls in swimsuits on suspended anchors?
A:Maybe if I hire some...

ghadis
22:41 / 02.03.07
I know we missed the last one and i'm asking the same question, but, are under 18s ok at the venue?

Mono
06:49 / 03.03.07
Should be fine...it's a restaurant!

Mon Oncle Ignatius
07:09 / 03.03.07
Ghadis, do you promise more dancing at the orchid Lounge? I hope so - and it'd be great to see you and mini-Ghadis there.

iamus
13:43 / 03.03.07
Well I won't make this, being at the opposite end of the UK and all, but I have pre-ordered my copy and I'm waiting by the door RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT.

I'm also waiting for some Scottish gigs, but y'know..

ghadis
10:17 / 04.03.07
Ah yes. The orchid lounge was the last MB gig i went to with the disco afterwards. I remember now! I'm sure i'll be slapping the dancefloor into submission at some point in the evening Django! Plus its St Patricks day so i'll be celebrating my (middle)names sake and Irish ancestry so i'm sure my riverdance may put in an appearence. Restaurants have many tables as well so it could all get a little messy. Especially if i bring my huge comedy Guinness hat.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
17:32 / 04.03.07
Ah. Remember the low-rise lanterns in the entrance to the Orchid Lounge? They might cause some serious grief to the comedy St. Patrick's hat - or vice versa. Riverdancing could be fun to watch - I wonder just how much of that there'll be on the night?

Brigade du jour
21:19 / 05.03.07
Oh yeah, it is St Patrick's Day! I must remember to wear green ...

Lilly Nowhere Late
05:44 / 06.03.07
I'm prettty sure those hats mentioned above are not allowed. Everyone should of course wear green clothes.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
08:22 / 06.03.07
There will be no room for those hats, thanks to the low ceilings. Imagine what they would do to the acoustics!. There will be a special area to deposit them on the door. With a lid.

Can I recommend Stoatie's review of Lea Valley Delta Blues here? (Direct link to the reviews page this way.)

Brigade du jour
04:07 / 09.03.07
Hey, does anybody know if there's anywhere to sit down in this joint? My girlfriend really wants to come along but she's not been well and might not be able to face standing up for three hours straight.

I sound so old, don't I? It's ok, you can admit it ...

Mono
10:23 / 09.03.07
there are going to be a few seats against the walls, i think. i have a feeling that it's going to be packed, so if you're both coming, send me a text on the day and i'll save you guys a seat!

A quick walk around Stokey this afternoon has yet again confirmed that whatever else Morning Bride may or may not be, they are TOTALLY the best at flyering.

They're in ur base RIGHT NOW, flyrng ur wallz.

iamus
16:05 / 12.03.07
They're in my computer, taking over my choons.

In the abscence of a dedicated thread (which I don't have enough to say yet to start), I just got the album this morning and it's a stonker. The singles have already been given thorough rotation for months and this one's a definite keeper.

Well done Mono et al.

Mono
20:35 / 12.03.07
Awwww, shucks!! So glad that you like it! We're all proud...

Mon Oncle Ignatius

There will be t-shirts on sale on Saturday night. They are lovely, come in two fantastic designs with backprints and in a variety of sizes and colours.

What do they look like?

Mono
06:53 / 16.03.07

Just bumping this to remind everyone that it's in about six hours, and promises to be a great night out.

Rock the house Stoatie!!!!

Mon Oncle Ignatius
14:45 / 17.03.07
In a suit, already!

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
17:01 / 17.03.07
Cheers, caleigh, I don't need to rock the house though- that's Morning Bride's job. I just have to make the house laugh, buy booze, and shut the fuck up while the bands are on!

Mono
13:15 / 19.03.07
what a crazy night it was... i hope everyone who came had a good time!

ghadis
19:42 / 19.03.07
Had a great time but unfortunatly had to head off halfway through your set to catch the last train etc. Dead pleased with the CD (which sounds fantastic) and shirt though.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
22:21 / 19.03.07
Good to see you there Ghadis, and it's a shame you missed the hoedown ending with "Mother Hackney" belted out by the throng. There was much dancing afterwards too... and craziness.
