Looks amazing. Nice soundtrack. Doesn't do so much in the character or plot departments.

In fact it has pretty much the same pluses & minuses as "Lost In Translation".

Anyone else seen it?

It was enjoyable but it didn't really gel for me...and I really wanted to like it, truly I did. I wanted some great 80s new wave soundtrack to score the whole movie and instead got 50% classical music and 50% 80s songs, only 1 or 2 of which were really cool/rockin'/great songs/or even recognizable. The "I Want Candy" montage was fun enough, but it didn't really build to a climax as musical montages should, ultimately, especially a party montage like that. The story seemed to proceed at a horribly dull, slow pace (and I'm someone who doesn't mind slow pacing if it fits the movie). I walked out mostly disappointed. Most critical reviews in the US were lukewarm for this film, with a few saying "cool idea!"

For me, it was more about 'cool idea, wish the execution was better.'

oh, and I GREATLY preferred Lost In Translation if I had to compare the two.
