hello!

I was wondering if anyone knows where to find books by Cioxus and/or Irigaray in French, in London or any other uk location, i would love to be able to flick through them (and hope the grammatical structures aren't too over the top) before buying, i hate the idea of buying something pot luck on amazon.fr.

Also, has anyone had any luck, who is okay at French but hasnt studied it to uni level with reading them? I was thinking about getting the French and English versions of a text to start off with, to ease me in.

Wasn't sure whether to post this in head shop, im guessing the people that frequent there maybe also have an idea!

without wishing to state the blindingly obvious, tried signing up for the british library? i hear they have a few books lying around. they've definitely got cixous and irigaray in french and english. take a gas bill and your credit card and you're in.

the bodleian in oxford can sort you out, too, though they'll probably make you jump through a few more hoops. the relevant books're in the taylorian institute; it smells nice, and you don't have to put up with bookshop-workers getting pissy with you because you're bending the covers, though the chairs're a bit uncomfortable.
