Honestly, just scope out used bookstores. I picked up a two-volume Bennett Cerf collection of groaners for twenty-five cents each a few years ago for a project. I'd send 'em to you, but they're hardcovers and the price would be abhorrent.

And: Library + Photocopier. Cheap and easy.
