RHEXISMUSIC: Forget-Me-Not Single

Withiel: DALI'S ROTTWEILER
02:57 / 13.01.07
The Fearful Symmetries:

"Lingerie-abusing anti-rockists from the dark places of the Home Counties, The Fearful Symmetries forge psychedelic punk and overqualified indie for the discerning gentleperson of the 22nd century! GASP! at their dizzying fusion of lo-fi production and space-age mind-drills! THRILL! to their angular synth-driven R!0TPOP stylings, while also GAPING at their RAW, SEXUAL CHARISMA."

-is this a really, really shit idea for a band concept thing?

For your audiocognitive dysfunxion:

Forget-Me-Not
A Music-Hall Love Story

Music and Lyrics Sable X. Veins
Vocals SXV
Guitars SXV
Percussion Buzz
Production and Engineering Withiel S. Black

Broken and lonely and drifting;
Shifting, scraping slide.
Treadplate for ribs and sick dick,
Boot-blacking stars on the side.

I don't want you
To ever find out why
I left so soon
And never said goodbye.

I love you not,
I'm just a bit of fluff.
Forget-Me-Not,
We'll never get enough.

Fidelity is just a word.
Ha. Ha.

Castrated gramophone needles
Moan for Their Mistress's Voice.
Sideways and skywards and cold and free,
My nerves bleached from the white noise.

I don't want you
To ever find out why
I left so soon
And never said goodbye.

I love you not,
I'm just a bit of fluff.
Forget-Me-Not,
We'll never get enough.

Fidelity is just a word.
Ha. Ha.

What if the scraping weren't ended?
Bleached nerves recede to the womb.
Thanks! Thanks! In breaking I'm mended!
Sloughed from my anodyne fumes.

I love you not,
I'm just a bit of fluff.
Forget-Me-Not,
We'll never get enough.

Based on a brief lsten, it seems to me that the niche market for this band would be the type of audience which is into Syd Barrett and the Human League, and which is also, it seems, very, very angry about the world, and everything in it.

Is that fair? If so, I'm not saying it's a bad thing ...

The link to the new song doesn't seem to be working, at the moment.

From the look of the MySpace page, is Fearful Symmetries absorbing the Withiel backcatalog?

Dude, you're my hero. There's something endearingly akin to The Rebel about your tunes, in the best possible sense.

Okay, it's back up (or my browser is cooperating, or whatever the problem was).

Love it. It's a bit different in style than your solo stuff, but the Withiel production touch is immediately recognizable. With regard to your "22nd century gentleperson" aesthetic, I've commented before that your music always sounds like The Future to me, anyway.

The more of this I can hear in the near future, probably the better off we'll all be.

Also, your backing vocal entrance is a lovely flash of familiarity.
