Ulf Söderberg/Sephiroth is Darque all the way through!

Okay so I dunno I guess I'm a bit tardy to the party on Ulf Söderberg and his amazing percussive sweeping darque soundscapes. Seems ideal for trancework.

No one else I know of has any of his stuff and his newer work Vindarnas Hus from '03 doesn't appear to be floating around. I managed to snag his Sephiroth (no not the dutch black metal band) album Cathedron and it's sheer baleful ear candy galore.

The Cold Meat Industry label seems to offer them online.

Anyway, I'm spending a chunk of my next paycheck and thought I should tell ya.

So people know what you're talking about: Wolftribes, courtesy of YSI. Beautiful, some of the most stirring music I've heard from Cold Meat Industry (which, I notice, has just joined emusic).

I quite like that, on first listen. I liked it more before the percussion started though. The two tones seemed to clash a little.

Actually, on second listen, I disagree with myself. The percussion works pretty effectively, particuarly at the tracks end.

not to get all Temple-y in the Music forum but hot damn if that track isn't forming the basis for my current trancework. The other Cathedron tracks are lovely but that one is the pick of the litter by far. AND NOW I HAVE A REMIX FROM LEP!!!! SWEET!

good stuff, if you want more in the same vein go for Ulf's releases under his own name. not as dark and more of the ethnic percussion if that's what attracts you to it in the first place. alas i have none on the computer or i would share!

and i can completely see this thread relating to Temple discussion if pushed in the right direction -- perhaps a magick music suggestion thread? gosh i could go on about that for hours.
