Submissions to 2000ad

Has anyone ever submitted to 2000ad? Anyone submitted successfully?

I've sent something like 7 story ideas (future shocks) and had replies for them all, all in the no - the most positive one said that it was too similar to an old idea that had been printed in the early 80's.

Still sending ideas though....

Went through a phase of submitting after University. David Bishop was a rude swine to boot, but then my ideas were fucking shit.
TBH I find self-publishing more rewarding. Obviously if a company wants to pay me i'm not saying no.

Wha? In what form is that appearing. Much as I loathe him, I wanted to read all the inside shit on the Galaxies Greatest but could never be arsed to buy the Megazine. Answer me?

p.s. Soul Sisters/Straitjacket Fits = worst ever.

keep sending them in, Benny. Like Mac I spent some time post uni bombarding the 2KAD offices with my genius ideas. I got a couple of positive responses but I never hit the jackpot. I reckon talent and tenacity are your friends in this instance, especially tenacity.

juding by the rise of gordon rennie, yes, I'd say tenacity is the key word.

I sent one in and got a negative but with nice constructive criticism. My first rejection letter. I saved it to possibly be framed.

I was chatting with Mike Collins while he was doing a charity thing my company was supporting and he told me him and a friend spent a few years going in showing their art, having it ripped to pieces with harsh criticism and going back in 6 months later for more of the same. Eventually he got a shot at a future shock and he said his art improved a hell of a lot thanks to the criticism.

So basic lesson stick at it .
