A personality test? On the internet?
Who would have thought. This has been scarily accurate so far.

Get tested

I'm too scared to put my result up!

The ENFP Journalist.
w00t.

Although, I dislike the bit about being a gushy manipulative with muscle tension. I mean, it's true, but it's not nice to see it on the internet.

Kirin? Who the heck?

ENTP inventor here. I'm fairly chuffed with the writeup, though it seems a little glowing at times. Are they all like that?

Yep.
It's because we rock,

An ENFP Journalist here too.

Apparently I'm not going to be a data analyst or a financial advisor.

I hope this doesn´t mean I´m in league with the bearded guy surrounded by his thousand tv screens?

Strange. I tied in three categories so it told me to keep refreshing the page for all possible combinations, which were apparently all *true* of me:

ENTP - "Inventor". Enthusiastic interest in everything and always sensitive to possibilities. Non-conformist and innovative. 3.2% of the total population.

ENFP - "Journalist". Uncanny sense of the motivations of others. Life is an exciting drama. 8.1% of total population.

ENFJ - "Persuader". Outstanding leader of groups. Can be aggressive at helping others to be the best that they can be. 2.5% of total population.

ESFJ - "Seller". Most sociable of all types. Nurturer of harmony. Outstanding host or hostesses. 12.3% of total population.

ESTP - "Promotor". Action! When present, things begin to happen. Fiercely competitive. Entrepreneur. Often uses shock effect to get attention. Negotiator par excellence. 4.3% of total population.

ESFP - "Entertainer". Radiates attractive warmth and optimism. Smooth, witty, charming, clever. Fun to be with. Very generous. 8.5% of the total population.

And the category that wasn't a tie breaker was within about 1.5% of being my fourth fifty/fifty split. Does this mean that I have no fixed personality? Not doing wonders for my response to that sometimes mentioned "all things to all men" criticism.

INTJ Mastermind. Great. If I could just get enough funding to finish my power armour, I would show all those fools at the Academy what I am truly capable of! MOCK ME, WILL YOU?!?

Well, Seth, perhaps that means you're fully individuated. What's the news from our collective unconscious?

I came up as INFJ with this, although I had INTP preferences as a teenager. INFJ seems pretty close, or INTJ.

But more interestingly, I found this skeptics dictionary article on MBTI. I didn't know about Jung's antipathy towards statistics before.

But last time I took the Myers-Briggs online (different site) I apparently was INFJ, counselor idealist... And noted at the time I tend to flip on that J/P scale, which is holding true.

Wheres that typical 'lithers thread gone? I can't remember what it's called, or where it is.

INTP - "Architect". Greatest precision in thought and language. Can readily discern contradictions and inconsistencies. The world exists primarily to be understood. 3.3% of total population.

The write-up didn't all sound right, and it was obviously intended to flatter, but it was more accurate than these tests usually are. What do the letters mean? How's it all related to Jung?

Some info here

I underwent a Myers-Briggs test a couple of years ago. TBH, I was astonished at how accurate it was. I went in a complete sceptic and came out convinced that there's something in it.

I didn't know about Jung's antipathy towards statistics before.

I think you'll probably find that in a lot of practising therapists. It comes of being more concerned with what works for the specific person you're dealing with than trying to establish the general laws that govern most people.

It's probably not ever a good idea to do internet personality tests after midnight - nevertheless:

INFJ - "Author". Strong drive and enjoyment to help others. Complex personality. 1.5% of total population.

Fine, fine, perfectly doable, until you go and check the list of associations for that type:-

creative, smart, focus on fantasy more than reality, attracted to sad things, fears doing the wrong thing, observer, avoidant, fears drawing attention to self, anxious, cautious, somewhat easily frightened, easily offended, private, easily hurt, socially uncomfortable, emotionally moody, does not like to be looked at, fearful, perfectionist, can sabotage self, can be wounded at the core, values solitude, guarded, does not like crowds, organized, second guesses self, more likely to support marijuana legalization, focuses on peoples hidden motives, prone to crying, not competitive, prone to feelings of loneliness, not spontaneous, prone to sadness, longs for a stabilizing relationship, fears rejection in relationships, frequently worried, can feel victimized, prone to intimidation, lower energy, strict with self

BRB going to make myself taller.

I always seem to vary between Protector and Architect (depending on mood). This is especially true when concerning questions that oppose spontaneity and planning or theoretical approaches versus the practical. I wonder how much life circumstance, time constraints, job and family matters effects the results at any given time.
Maybe I'm underestimating the value of these things however.
