Asking an Ebay question in Comics

Hello, lovelies.

Since my breakup I've been undergoing a bit of self-renovation. One of these is - finally - sorting out my incredibly random comic collection. I'd like to say eclectic instead but I am not that generous.

Anyway, I'm planning on setting up an Ebay shop sometime in the next couple of days after I've finished cataloguing everything for sale.

I'd like to ask the people of Comics how I should go about selling off everything. This, in itself, would be alright I imagine. I'd be putting up a link to a txt file of all the shite I'm trying to flog to give everyone a full idea of stock. Hoping this will generate a lot of discussion vis. comic sale.

However, after I've gotten some answers and made a decision on how to sell I'd like to put a link up in the thread to my Ebay shop (assuming I'm not advised to go flog everything to my local comic shop). Would this last part be okay?

I THINK there have been issues with "LOOK AT WHAT I HAVE ON TEH EBAY!!!" threads in the past. What you are describing seems like it would begin as a general discussion of selling large collections (something I would be interested in myself) which could be useful to the population as a whole. If it were to include ebay links eventually I don't think that would be an issue.

You will likely want to wait on a mod to give you more info though.

Yeah, exactly, I've been thinking of the past where people have been pissed off by people going "LOOK AT MY COMICS FOR TEH SALE!!" - myself included - but that's geeeeennnerally been for knobs who've never posted anything else on Barbelith.

I've been contemplating doing the same thing but have come to the conclusion that I am too shit lazy to go to all the trouble of selling the collection on eBay, so I'm going to take a big box to Mega City and haggle with Martin Kravitz over a price for the lot.

wrt eBay, do you think selling single issues or "runs" and complete mini-series etc works better? The latter is clearly less laborious, but you miss the people who want to complete a run. hem hem.

Anyway, I'd be happy PM a list of stuff for sale to anyone who wants to look (it's quite embarrassing) before I take the lot to Mega.

If you made a specific thread for the pimping of comics in general, and put it in the Comics forum then I don't see why people would disagree. We already have a shit pimping thread in Conversation; come to my gig or whatever.
