"All that she wants is another baby, she's gone tommorrow..."

Aaaaaaaaaagh! Ace Of Bass, why did you do it to me? No matter how many years go past this one keeps creeping in there and smashes up my sanity. It'll probably be the soundtrack to my death.

Barbelith I give it to you!

What do you dislike about that song, Harrison? And cube, if that was meant to indicate a dislike for a song...

Well Fly, it just drives me insane. In fact it's still in my head now, it's been there all day. Aside from the aggrivating whine of the vocal & the excessive slices of cheddar 'club dance' production, it's also bloody catchy so there's no escape.

But to ne honest I think the answer to your question really is:

It's Ace Of Bass for cry eye!-)

In a way, it's actually quite a disturbing song; the protagonist, apparently on a global hunt for involuntary sperm donors, is straight out of JG Ballard. And where are her other children supposed to be while she's out cruising the beaches for a new baby-father? In a laboratory somewhere?

No! It's not fucking ironic! It's shit!

YOU DISTURBED AND DESTROYED MY YOUTH, ALANIS MORRISETTE. I HATE YOU.

I'm more tired of people complaining about the lack of irony in "Ironic" than I ever was of the song itself.

I think Alanis Morrisette has done more to raise popular awareness of what irony is, through the anti-Alanis backlash, than any other force in human history.

Hate the song, though.

You have a good point there, matt.

My main pain in remembering this song is the thought of the time when my sister and her two friends, on finding out how much i absolutely hate the song, put it on the stereo as loud as possible and surrounded me while singing it as loud and as whiney as they could until i cried.

Though i suppose i should really hold my sister responsible, i won't. Instead i carry a sharp blade, should i ever meet Alanis in a darkened street. The blade is made of iron. It is all iron-y.

"I'm blue dabadee dabaDIE!, dabadee dabaDIE! dabadee dabaDIE!"

And they thought that heavy metal was telling kids to commit suicide... Fools they are, little do they know, the true purpose behind europop is to incite mass-suicide...

Keyboardplayers floating through space to meet badly rendered blue aliens to teach them how to dance to music so horrible it makes you want to pour cement into your ears... if it wasn't so god-awful, it just might be funny.
