The definition of true friendship is:

When you call me in the middle of the night and say, "Come and get me, I'm in Glasgow*." and I get in my car and just go and get you without even asking why you need me to come.

*Glasgow is miles away from me. To understand this definition and to find your Glasgow, substitute Glasgow for anywhere 8 hours drive away from where you live.'

It's kind of hard to narrow it down, but if I can call a couple of people in tears at seven in the morning and tell them my dog died during the night, and they turn up at my house within minutes and deal with all the practical vet/cremation stuff I can't even think about, and then help me move house- well, that's gotta be one of the best definitions I can think of.

Well, the cliché is that friends help you move and true friends help you move bodies. I'd say that you've pretty much sumed it up, Stoat.
