In the introduction to his [somewhat flawed] translation of the mukhya upanishads Juan Mascaro casually makes this unreferenced claim...
'In the state of deep [hypnotic] sleep a word or number can be written on a paper and the person in deep sleep can be asked to read the word or number placed behind him. The person reads accurately what is written, and when the same experiment is repeated with success several times with different words and numbers not the slightest doubt is left in the mind of the operator that thought-transmission, or thought-reading, is a fact.'
I have the vague but nagging feeling i have read this somewhere else before but i cant seem to find any information on the experiment or similar. Does anyone know anything about this? |
