In this thread Opps!! seems to be unable to type a certain word on to Barbelith and have it appear. By this I mean this poster is typing a word, but when the post posts it appears as *****. (Star star star star star).
In PM's the word also appears as *****, which makes trying to establish what the word actually is rather Pythonesque. As a result of this I have asked Opps!! to spell it out phonetically, (ess pee eee ell ell for example) to see if that works.
With regard to the star effect, I can't work out what's going on. I'm presuming that there are not 'banned' words on Barbelith, and that there is not some kind of weird coding to disallow words. I've looked in the source code for the page and all I can see is the ***** that appears.
I am assured that Opps!! is not actually typing ***** and is in fact typing a word, so can anyone help out with what the holy cow is going on? |
