I wasn't sure if I should post this here in the Temple, in the music forum, or in the comic book forum, but I figured this would be a good try.
I just listened to the last track of Tool's Lateralus for the first time. Seriously freaky. It starts after the 3 minutes or so of silence at the end of the penultimate track, and the sound effects were such that I began thinking of what I had heard about the drug DMT having a sort of alien vibe to it. The lyrics were, surprise, about aliens. It sounded like a seriously terrified guy making a recording while being drowned out by the alien groans.
"I, I don't have a whole lot of time. Um, OK, I'm a former employee of Area 51. I, I was let go on a medical discharge about a week ago and, and... [chokes] I've kind of been running across the country. Damn, I don't know where to start, they're, they're gonna, um, they'll triangulate on this position really soon.
OK, um, um, OK, what we're thinking of as, as aliens, they're extradimensional beings, that, an earlier precursor of the, um, space program they made contact with. They are not what they claim to be. Uh, they've infiltrated a, a lot of aspects of, of, of the military establishment, particularly the Area 51.
The disasters that are coming, they, the military, I'm sorry, the government knows about them. And there's a lot of safe areas in this world that they could begin moving the population to now. They are not! They want those major population centers wiped out so that the few that are left will be more easily controllable."
Immediately after the lyrics finish, there's this ziiooop! noise of the signal being cut off, and an interesting effect was caused by me listening to this on my iPod with the album repeat setting on. It immediately looped back to the beginning of the song "The Grudge" which begins with this whirring sound like an old fashioned movie projector or reel-to-reel being started up, and the song is about the exploitation of Christ as a means of control.
I looked up Faaip De Oiad because it sounded enochian, and I found the following information at one of those song meanings sites.
"Faaip De Oiad" means "Voice of God" in the Enochian language. The Enochian language was invented by Edward Kelley in the 16th Century. Kelley said this language had been revealed to him by angels.
The Art Bell Show, a Nevada-based radio show that purported to discuss conspiracy theories and the paranormal, was the venue for a strange occurrence on September 11, 1997. During an Area 51-themed call-in program, a hysterical man claiming to be a former Area 51 worker called in to warn Bell's listening audience that he knew of a series of impending disasters. This is the source of the monologue on this track. Before the man was finished speaking, the Art Bell show mysteriously left the airwaves for about 30 minutes. Several weeks later, the man called back apologizing for the (apparent) hoax, but the mysterious and somewhat coincidental outage has never been adequately explained. (thanks, Matt - pitts, PA, for above 2)
So, Enochian Angels = Xenodimensionals = "Extraterrestrials?" I am reminded of The Invisibles . I've read about half the series a friend lent me, and have been meaning to pick up the entire series in graphic novel form, but have not got around to it yet.
An occultis I know is unnerved by Enochian magick because he can't help but to feel that "something is off." I have not delved into that system yet, but I plan to. If I recall correctly the "Voice of God" would be Metatron, the Angel of the Presence.
Does anyone know what is going on with all this? |
