This sounds great so I applied for it, but as it turns out they've got everyone in place but the show director, and for diversity/representational reasons they need the director to be someone from an ethnic minority (basically everyone else is white, middle class and university educated, which seems for some reason to surprise them).
Apparently it's not enough to be a woman in a man's world any more ...
CHRISTMAS SHOW IN HOLLOWAY PRISON
Sue Dawson is Chief Executive of an educational charity Film-it (check it out on www.film-it.org.uk] which is putting on a Christmas Show in HMP Holloway on 29 December 2006 and rehearsing with the women prisoners and their families on 18 November (taster day) and on 11-15, 18-22, 27 and 28 December. She plans to make a documentary film about the project and maybe a R4 programme. There is funding but the budget is small. She is looking for
FILM MAKER
THEATRE DIRECTOR
DEPUTY STAGE MANAGER
VOLUNTEERS TO HELP OUT WITH COSTUME AND PROPS AND
STAGE MANAGING ON THE DAY.
