I had a horrible music listening experience earlier.

Because the huge shop I visited is so loud, that I can´t listen to my mp3s anyway, I turned my player off, and while having to put my bag away, because otherwise the customer is not allowed to enter, I had to endure someone singing that he´s "the king of the bongo baby, I'm the king of Bongo-bong". When I entered the shop, I passed the DJ, and he was surrounded by Robbie Williams posters and CDs, so it was not Manu Chao, but Williams, that was "hitting the bongo" in an eardrum grating way.

Lyrics excerpt:
Mama was queen of the Mambo
Papa was king of the Kongo
Deep down in the jungle
I start banging my first bongo
Every monkey'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause I'm the king of Bongo baby I'm the king of Bongo-bong

Not bad enough, that I was reminded of this song, but Williams sang it so "I can´t believe people are buying this" style, that from this day on, I will always take the stairs, for fear of being stuck in a lift, where this crap is playing ad nauseam.

My newspaper also told me today, that Williams has a new album published, "Rudebox" it is called; and those tunes were rude and crude indeed.

I was appalled to discover that the awful version of The Smiths' How Soon Is Now? on the credits of Charmed was actually by Love Spit Love.

Yes, that's right. Richard Butler, ex of the Psychedelic Furs. What the fuck was he thinking?

Do you know the How soon is now cover version by TATU? I actually like their version; they sound more lively and emotional to me than Morrissey´s version.

Thinking about eternal royalties, probably.

That version of "How Soon Is Now?" actually made its appearance in the teen witch flick The Craft BEFORE it became the theme tune to Charmed.
