I'm betting the hit was probably the Passe Em Casa one, very bouncy and catchy. I like the song, though I could see it getting old, or being overplayed. Maybe it was another one?
No, it was Já Sei Namorar. Though reading through lyrics, Velha Infância seems rather familiar as well... Two hits, then. Disappeared afterwards.
(As an aside, this makes me curious as to how much cross-cultural pollination occurs between Brazil and Portugal)
*There's also the odd brazilian hit around here, and some artists are consistently successful and acknowledged, it seems. Marisa Monte, for instance. Can't really think far beyond that, though; the only other one that occurs is Caetano Veloso. OH!, and annoying pop-shit like Daniela Mercury and Ivete Sangalo and these bands whose names escape me that fall into the general "sunny booty-shaking music from across the Atlantic!" category that in most Portuguese minds is probably what the words "Brazilian music" bring up.
Anyway, I think it's fair to say there's some (pretty much exclusively one-way, mind) sharing of music.
(From the * on, more impression than solid fact, and as such, potentially bullshit.) |
