I humbly request that every last member of the 'lith buy a V costume and attend a meetup in front of the White House on Halloween night.

Who's with me?

I'm telling you, Stoatie, I think that boy doesn't do any work but scours the Internet for any related Doctor Who tidbit to send to me. And again, he's never even seen the show.

I think I might try to make that. I need a cool Halloween project.

monk: If only I lived in the area.

Yeah, it's a bit of a walk for me too. Large parts of it underwater.

I gave up on building a cosmic rod (giggle) and now have 2 costumes for the Friday and Saturday party I will be attending.

On Friday, my fiance and I will be going (along with another couple) as the 4 horsepeople of the apocalypse. We will have properly colored stick horses and t-shirts with our names written in Latin (ahh medievalists).

On Saturday my friend Gabe and I will be Zack and Slater from Saved By The Bell, while Sarah (my fiance) will be The Black Queen (Jean Grey brainwashed edition)

Dammit, people, I'm not going to stand out there all by myself! I'll get disappeared faster than habeus corpus!

My other idea, which isn't secret as I'm not going to be able to do it, is to get a big telly, wear it round my waist, and dress as Sadako from Ring.

I'm trying to think if I've really ever been to a full-on costume Hallowe'en party. I don't know that I have, as such. Maybe in the days when I dressed like that most of the time, but that probably doesn't count.

Oh, hang on, some planning discussions about what to do next Tuesday have reminded me of last year's semi-impromptu party:

The Childe F is getting more and more into trick or treating each year, so she'll be out and about doing that on the 31st. I plan on projecting something suitably disturbing (but not offensively so) on the inside of the blinds to amuse the passers-by on the street below - maybe the Residents' Commercial DVD again - and then hopefully off to see Owlls at a Hallowe'en gig down the road. But what to wear?

Quantum: I'll be going to Lewes for sure.

So will I - fancy meeting up?

C&Ped from Cameron Stewart:

Anyone dressing up for Halloween this weekend? If so, what's your costume? Share pictures if possible.

This year I'm Patrick Bateman.

There should be more pictures later...

this year I was an undead prom attendee complete with homemade open wounds. my neck wound (seen below) was a big hit, as it apparently gaped convincingly every time I spoke or moved my head. I made the wounds with liquid latex, cooked asparagus soaked in fake blood, and bits of toilet paper. I was over the moon when someone asked if I or someone I knew was a professional! they weren't *really* that good, but I was happy that someone thought they were!

the absolute best costume of the night, however, went to the girl in the photo with me. her and her bf had some difficulty finding premade costumes so, the day of the party, "threw" one together. they came as a flight attendant (she) and a pilot (he) - complete with BEVERAGE CART. the beverage cart was made out of styrofoam and cardboard and whatever else he could find in the basement. it actually rolled and had drawers for ice and large bottles. the top had minis, plastic cups, and little square napkins. they'd even made a logo for the side of the cart, and she'd made little winged star pins for them to wear! this was all done in the few hours between their failed attempts at costume shopping and the party itself. they're amazing!

There was a flight attendant at the party I went to as well (no beverage cart though). She looked great, I regret not talking to her.

As plans change, so do costumes.

My friend Will and I did not go as the Doctor and Rose, but rather as a pair of unfortunate wedding attendees at a wedding that happened to be overrun by zombies. So he in a magnificiently shredded suit and tie--replete with actual leaves coming out everywhere--and I in a wonderfully torn apart bridesmaid dress, both coated in gore, shambled into the party we went to, came in fourth place, and proceeded to get very drunk as zombies. I'm told someone took a picture and God, I hope so as we looked ace.

And of course, Cameron wins.

Cameron, that was way cool.

I was V this year- no photos, unfortunately (though I believe a certain poster has a Polaroid) but I shall dress up in it again between now and Guy Fawkes' and try to get a photo then.

My Halloween plans were shattered by the drama inherent in the tiny Albuquerque Social Scene (TM).

I ended up going to the party of the year dressed as my best friend who was banned from the place after an argument with the host.

It went over really well among those of us who like the guy, not so much with everyone else.

On a cheery note my loverly fiance dressed as Black Queen era Jean Grey and kicked much ass. If I can convince her that people who might have some say on her future in PhD land will never be able to Google them I might get her to let me post a picture.

Cameron: that was more bad ass then I can say.

Stoats: V is a good costume, although the 7 Vs that showed up at the goth night on Thursday was a bit much. Brought back bad memories of a post Matrix Halloween.

I don't about anyone else but I am now a bit scared of Ganesh.

Just now you're a bit scared of 'Nesh?!?!?!

Where you have been, man? That fear should have been in you the first day!

I think Ganesh may have put something entirely different into hir on the first day. If you catch my drift. Eh? Eh? Eh?

Eh?

Ah.

Obviously this is not me because I am not 8. But since this is The Lovely Boy I think I can post it here. He went trick or treating like this and people gave him a lot to go away. The Beautiful Man did his make-up, it's wicked, isn't it?

The missing tooth works in that costume's favour!

O.K. so I have as limited social skills and am as typically insular as the geek/'lither stereotype would suggest.

What do you mean CHARRELLZ II: THE UPPERCASING!!! What on earth do you mean?!

I found a pic of Will and I but am having trouble posting it.
